Our S’METICS Principle

In the world of dermaceutical beauty, skin compatibility is a top priority. We use active ingredients with proven efficacy that are considered true miracle cures—and not just when it comes to anti-aging. Dermaceutical skincare products operate at the intersection of skincare and medicine. They are capable of improving the skin’s overall health.

Every skin type is unique. That’s why we offer customized skincare plans tailored to your skin’s specific needs. Through a thorough skin analysis, we determine the best products and treatments for you.

We rely on three pillars:

1 DMS cream base

Our DMS cream base is a dermaceutical matrix structure. This base contains ingredients modeled after the skin’s lipid layer. It is highly tolerable and helps maintain a healthy and protected skin barrier.

2 Hyaluronic Acid and Peptides

Our proprietary hyaluronic acid formula has been continuously refined in our in-house laboratory. Enhanced with peptides, these small-molecule, highly effective active ingredients can penetrate the skin exactly where they are needed.

Your skin is important to us

Time and again, certain ingredients come under justified criticism. Often, consumers are given only a partial explanation of why these substances are best avoided. It is important to us to explain why we choose not to use certain ingredients, because only then can you understand what sets our S’METICS skincare apart from many other brands.

It is undisputed that certain substances can trigger allergies and affect our body’s natural processes. We have been conducting research for over 20 years to ensure we offer only the best for the skin. Out of love for the skin and respect for nature.

What are ingredients?

Ingredients are the substances used in a cosmetic product. By law, they must be listed according to the INCI nomenclature. This means that all ingredients must be listed either directly on the product or on the outer packaging.

From a dermaceutical perspective, we place particular emphasis on carefully selected formulations. After all, modern skincare should not only be effective but also gentle on the skin. That is why, whenever possible, we avoid potentially harmful or unnecessarily irritating substances and focus on ingredients that specifically support and strengthen the skin while helping it maintain its natural balance.

1 DMS cream base

To maintain your skin’s natural protective barrier, it’s important to shield it from harmful influences. Our cream base is called DMS Structure and is manufactured by S’METICS according to an in-house formula. It contains ingredients modeled after your skin’s lipid layer. Due to the similarity in fat content and moisture, your skin recognizes this base as its own and absorbs it wonderfully. This makes it not only well-tolerated but also ensures a beautiful and healthy skin structure in the long term.

Skin-identical ingredients are so beneficial for your body because your skin recognizes them as its own. These plant-based ingredients closely resemble the natural lipid barrier of your skin, making them not only good for your skin but also extremely gentle.

High-quality oils—and thus high-quality lipids —restore what your skin's protective barrier is missing. They provide moisture while also protecting against impurities and clogged pores.

2 Hyaluronic Acid & Peptides

The smaller the molecular weight of the active ingredients, the more effectively they can work. Hyaluronic acid has the ability to bind large amounts of water in the body. This plumps up the skin and keeps it elastic. As a result, the skin is firmed and plumped. The skin looks refreshed and more youthful. Peptides perform many functions to support the skin. High concentrations ensure long-lasting results; we guarantee the highest concentrations. Peptides combined with hyaluronic acid represent an ideal combination.

Peptides have become indispensable in the modern world of beauty and dermaceuticals. Not only are they highly effective, but they are also well-tolerated. Another unbeatable advantage is the size of the protein—it is small-molecular and can therefore reach exactly where it is needed in your skin. It is undisputed that powerful peptides in high concentrations can provide pure anti-aging benefits.

3 Exfoliators

Our dermaceutical peels are true all-rounders in the world of cosmetics. With our high-quality, professional peels, you can address various skin concerns. There are professional peels that should only be administered by a qualified skincare specialist, and others that you can use at home. These peels are highly effective: they remove the outermost layer of dead skin cells, significantly improve the absorption of active ingredients, support the regeneration of skin cells, and simply make your skin glow. The results are significant and visible quickly.

Milder AHA acids, such as glycolic acid, are often used to rejuvenate dry, sun-damaged skin. They stimulate cell turnover and collagen production. Your skin’s ability to retain moisture is improved. Enlarged pores and fine lines are reduced. Even blemished skin can heal more effectively.

BHA acids, which are slightly stronger than salicylic acid, are used for combination or oily skin. They help treat excess sebum production, oily skin, and blackheads. They also have an antibacterial effect.

In our product lines, we do not use:

Paraffins

Paraffins are mineral oils derived from petroleum and are still widely used in the cosmetics industry today because they make the skin feel soft and supple on the surface. Unfortunately, however, it has been proven that paraffins can damage the skin barrier. This causes the skin layer to become increasingly thick, eventually leading to a drier, flaky complexion.

Parabens

Parabens enter our bodies through the skin and can be harmful. They are known to interfere with sensitive developmental stages and are suspected of causing cancer. Although there is no concrete evidence to support this, we have made a conscious decision not to use them in our products.

Fragrance components

Fragrance ingredients pose a high risk of causing allergies in cosmetic products. A total of 26 fragrances are most commonly linked to allergies. And this list is likely to grow in the coming years. Many of our products contain no fragrance at all—for the sake of your skin!

Preservatives

Preservatives are used in cosmetics to protect products from bacteria. While this may seem sensible on the one hand, it can lead to allergic reactions on the other. This is because, in most cases, these are chemical substances. We expressly avoid using them.
Instead, in accordance with cosmetic regulations, we use skin-friendly compounds that are better tolerated. In the professional sector, we go one step further and use products that do not have as long a shelf life but are significantly better tolerated. Or we even have two products that are completely free of any preservatives.

Silicones

Silicones are synthetic materials derived from petroleum. They are still frequently used in cosmetics as a substitute for high-quality oils. While they are generally well-tolerated, the skin does not recognize them as part of its own natural composition because they are foreign substances. This results in a silky feeling on the skin after applying a cream containing silicones. If these products are used over a longer period, an invisible film forms on the skin, which hinders the skin’s natural regeneration. Another negative effect can be that substances such as vitamins are unable to work as intended on the skin due to the silicone used.

Dyes

For the sake of your skin, you should also avoid artificial colors as much as possible , since the body has a hard time processing them—they are simply foreign substances.
